What Is a “Dosage Form?”

A dosage form is the shape of your medicine.  Capsules and liquids are common dosage forms.  Compounded dosage forms offer more options and may include lozenges, lollipops, and topically applied creams.

Options in Female Hormone Replacement Therapy

Many women have questions about different methods used to evaluate, test, and treat symptoms related to hormone imbalance.  Adding to the frustration are contrasting reports ranging from “It’s all in your mind” (which is not true) to “Hormones are dangerous” (also not true).  Arm yourself with information so you can have an educated discussion with your physician and make choices that are best for you.

Join Pharmacist Christina Barnett at Westchase Specialty Pharmacy for a discussion of female hormone replacement therapy, lab tests and interpretations, and medication options.  We will consider ALL of today’s treatment options, including conventional synthetic hormone products, compounded human-identical (“bio-identical”) hormone replacement therapy, and herbal products, as well as blood and saliva testing options and the importance of evaluating symptoms rather than just treating lab numbers.

6:00 pm    Wine and Cheese Reception

6:30-8 pm      Discussion

Think your symptoms are hormonal?  Guess again!  Hormone balance is tightly linked to both thyroid function.  Women interested in this topic are strongly encouraged to attend our discussion on Thyroid Therapy (October).
